Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin – How To Watch It

One of boxing’s brightest talents returns to action this weekend as Moses Itauma takes on Jermaine Franklin.

Itauma will look to deal Franklin the first stoppage loss of his career.

Frank Warren promotes his latest edition of ‘The Magnificent Seven’ in Manchester. The event was originally scheduled to take place on January 24, but the 21-year-old tore his bicep during camp, so it was delayed until now.

The heavyweight charge has starred in nearly every single one of his professional fights, with stoppage wins over Marius Wach, Dempsey McKean and more.

He headlined for the first time in his career last time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He took on former heavyweight contender and, on paper, the biggest step-up of his career in Dillian Whyte.

The 21-year-old made light work of this test, closing the show in under two minutes.

Immediately after his stoppage win last time out, Turki Alalshikh took to social media to say he wanted to see Itauma jump straight into a fight with two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

Despite Itauma saying he would be up for the test, he didn’t get his world title shot this time around and instead faces the seasoned Franklin.

‘989 Assassin’ has shared the ring with two more British stars in Anthony Joshua and the aforementioned Whyte.

Despite being on the wrong end of the decision in both of those fights, he won rounds and took them the distance, an issue Itauma continues to face.

In his 13 professional fights, Itauma has only boxed a total of just 26 rounds, so the 32-year-old may provide the test he and his team are looking for as they step-up towards world honours.

Franklin was last in action in September, securing a unanimous decision win over Ivan Dychko on the undercard of Terence Crawford’s historic win over Canelo Alvarez on Netflix.
