Jannik Sinner leads the Miami Masters 1000 fourth-round charge on Tuesday against Alex Michelsen. Miami magician Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina will also be in action against France’s Ugo Humbert.
(2) Jannik Sinner vs. Alex Michelsen
The Miami Open has not been kind to the top players. It’s the round of 16, and only three top-10 seeds remain active — but one of those is Jannik Sinner, who has been close to flawless in the Sunshine Double so far. The Indian Wells champion hasn’t come close to dropping a set in Miami.
Tuesday opponent Alex Michelsen isn’t likely to be as easy of an opponent as Damir Dzumhur or Corentin Moutet, but it’s hard to imagine the American outplaying Sinner long enough to even get a set. The Italian holds a 2-0 record over Michelsen and is on track to make it 3-0.

(31) Ugo Humbert vs. (18) Francisco Cerundolo
Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo has historically played some of his most impressive tennis in Miami. First, he has plenty of support from Argentinian fans who frequent the Miami Open; he also comes into the event off his standard success during the Golden Swing on South American clay.

Humbert is the better hard-court player and he has looked good this week — particularly in his straight-set rout of Gabriel Daillo in the second round. Still, Cerundolo dispatched Daniil Medvedev in the third round. There is some risk of a post-upset letdown, but I’m going with the Argentine.
Cheryl pick: Cerundolo in 3
Ricky pick: Humbert in 2
