Chelsea face an uphill battle in the race to finish in the Premier League’s top four this term after a recent run of poor results.
The Blues have lost four consecutive matches across all competitions and have won just one of their past six matches in the league, leaving Liam Rosenior’s side sixth in the table and six points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
Rosenior is under increasing pressure to turn his side’s fortunes around after a shaky run of results, and the Englishman will expect to see his side return to winning ways when they host League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-finals after the international break.
In the meantime, it is emerging that one of Chelsea’s academy graduates is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Spanish giants Real Madrid are joined by reigning Premier League champions Liverpool in showing interest in Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong.
The report claims that the Reds and Los Blancos are monitoring the Englishman, who is a product of Chelsea’s fruitful youth academy.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the Blues in a Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur in 2024 and has now played 38 times for the west London side across all competitions.
Acheampong is contracted to Chelsea until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but the report suggests that German side Borussia Dortmund and fellow Premier League side Newcastle United are also interested in the Englishman.
Capable of playing either at right-back or in central defence, Acheampong has proven to be a useful asset for the Blues this term as they have suffered with both injuries and suspensions.
It remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea would entertain the idea of selling the player.
