The venue for Super Bowl 63 in 2029 will be voted on at the NFL league meetings in Arizona next week, and the game is expected to be awarded to Las Vegas, according to a league source.
Allegiant Stadium hosted Super Bowl 58 in 2024, a 25-22 Kansas City Chiefs victory in overtime over the San Francisco 49ers. Usher headlined the halftime show for that game. Allegiant Stadium’s website lists the venue’s max capacity for a football game as 65,000, but the official attendance for that Super Bowl was 61,629, the lowest attendance for a non-pandemic Super Bowl.
If Vegas is awarded the Super Bowl in 2029, it would mark the second time the city hosts the league’s marquee event in a five-year period — and the second Super Bowl in the first decade of the stadium’s existence. The Raiders moved from Oakland, Calif., to Las Vegas in 2020, with the stadium opening its doors that summer.
Although Allegiant Stadium is fairly new, it has already hosted some of the biggest sports and entertainment events. In addition to the Super Bowl in 2024, the stadium hosted WrestleMania 41 last year and will host WrestleMania 42 next month. Allegiant Stadium is also slated to host the College Football National Championship next year and the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four in 2028.
In addition to sports, the stadium has hosted a series of high-profile musical acts, including Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran.
After the upcoming vote for Super Bowl 63, the venues for the next three Super Bowls will be set. Next year, the Super Bowl will return to Southern California at SoFi Stadium, while the Super Bowl in 2028 will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
