Charlotte Flair was brought to WWE’s main roster as part of the ‘Divas Revolution’ in 2015, but Charlotte is proud to have ended the Divas Era.
Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks were all called up eleven years ago, WWE’s response to a call for better handling of its female stars.
That same year, Charlotte would win the WWE Divas Title and would hold the gold until it, and the Divas term, were retired in April 2016.
On a recent edition of the “Complex Graps” podcast, Charlotte branded herself as the ‘killer’ of Divas, adding that the moniker was once Nikki Bella’s. She said,
“The real Diva Killer. I am so proud of that title. This was actually Nikki’s (Nikki Bella). That is the OG one.”
Charlotte’s comments came after Becky Lynch claimed on WWE Monday Night RAW that she was the one who killed the Divas Era.
At WrestleMania 32, Charlotte captured the WWE Women’s Title, which was later rebranded as the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.
The show also saw WWE stop referring to its female talent as Divas, instead referring to them as Superstars, making them equal to their male counterparts.
