🚨NYLANDER GOAL + SHAWZY ASSIST!!! 🚨
Alex Nylander scores to make it 2-0 and Logan Shaw earns an assist to become the Marlies All-Time Points Leader!
Since his pro career began in 2013, Shaw has had stops with the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, and Ottawa Senators and has a total of 16 goals and 39 points in 232 NHL games. This season, he has 22 goals and 49 points in 63 games, good for second on the team and likely to pass Bo Groulx, who has 50 points and is more likely than not to finish the season with the Maple Leafs.
“Obviously, I couldn’t do it without you guys,” Shaw told the locker room after being presented with the commemorative puck from his record-setting point. “Everybody, staff, players, you know, over the last four years. I’m obviously not here with my family, I think we’ve got a special group we’ve built over the past couple of years, we’re trending in the right direction, every game you can see it. But, you know, I just wanted to say thank you for everything, I appreciate it.”
The Marlies are currently third in the North Division and have playoff aspirations, which they’ll continue to work towards while the Maple Leafs look to get through their final nine games before regrouping for next season.
