This week’s episode of WWE EVOLVE featured EVOLVE Foreman Timothy Thatcher announcing an Eliminator Gauntlet Match scheduled for three weeks from now, where a new EVOLVE Women’s Champion will be crowned. This announcement comes after Kendal Grey relinquished the championship last month, following her successful title defense against Tyra Mae Steele.
Additionally, Thatcher revealed that next week’s show will include a multi-person match to determine the final entrant in the Gauntlet Match. Initially, he announced a Fatal 4-Way Match featuring PJ Vasa, Wendy Choo, Laynie Luck, and Nikkita Lyons. However, after Kali Armstrong protested her exclusion, she was added to the match, turning it into a Fatal 5-Way bout.
According to Bodyslam+, Armstrong’s immediate plans within the brand do not involve the EVOLVE Women’s Title, as sources suggest she is expected to begin a storyline with Tyra Mae Steele soon.
Armstrong is the inaugural EVOLVE Women’s Champion, having lost the title to Kendal Grey last October after a reign of 151 days. Following that, she was expected to move up to NXT, but those plans did not come to fruition.
