Head coach David Adelman has recently adjusted the Denver Nuggets’ rotation, according to Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette.
Veteran center Jonas Valanciunas has not appeared in the last four games, receiving DNP-CDs, as the team has shifted toward a smaller lineup.
In his place, Denver has been using a more mobile bench unit built around Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., Spencer Jones, and Peyton Watson alongside Jamal Murray, giving the team added flexibility.
Jones explained that the smaller lineup brings a different dynamic, particularly on defense.
“It just gives us another dimension for this team to deploy whenever we want,” Jones said. “It definitely allows us to switch on ball, which makes a lot of our defenders a lot more aggressive.
“Obviously, we have a lot of good defenders out there, so we’re able to pick pockets, get steals, get some easy runouts and apply more pressure.”
