Marquez on top as nine riders crash in chaotic MotoGP practice

Marc Marquez reasserted himself at the top of MotoGP pecking order during the timed practice session at the Circuit of the Americas this afternoon.

Marquez, who suffered a scary high speed crash in the FP1 session, showed his resilience and detemination once again to come out on top of a highly competitive session.
Ai Ogura was very impressive for trackhouse in second, and it appears that the Ducati-Aprilia battle will be very competitive throughout the weekend.

It was a crash-filled session all round with incidents for Jorge Martin, Di Giannantonio, Bastianini, Morbidelli, Toprak, Alex Marquez, Binder, Acosta and Ogura. Fortunately, none of the incidents were serious and all riders remain uninjured.

Maverick Vinales did not take part in the session and has wtihrawn from the remainder of the weekend due to a recurring shoulder injury.
