Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. could be headed toward an early end to his season due to synovitis in his right knee.
Head coach Doc Rivers indicated that a return is unlikely, saying he’d be “surprised” if Porter plays again before the season concludes.
Milwaukee entered Saturday sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the Miami Heat by nine games for the final Play-In Tournament spot.
With the gap that large and only limited games remaining, elimination from postseason contention appears imminent.
Before the injury, Porter had been a key contributor for the Bucks, averaging 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 46.5% from the field this season.
