Charlotte Flair is opening up about something fans rarely hear from her — trust — and she says Alexa Bliss is the one partner who finally broke through her walls.
During a recent interview with Complex, Charlotte was asked how her relationship with Alexa Bliss changed from early tension to strong tag team chemistry. That question led Charlotte to admit that trusting partners has never come naturally to her after years of dominating WWE on her own.
Charlotte explained that spending most of her career as a singles star made it hard to rely on anyone else in the ring. But when Alexa Bliss returned to WWE after taking time away to become a mother, Charlotte said something shifted between them.
“I think Lexi and I, over the years, have always had an understanding, but I have been a solo act for so long and didn’t trust anyone. And she had taken time off, you know, due to becoming a mom, I think. Not necessarily, like, she’s an incredible competitor. I’m an incredible competitor, but I think for the first time, being able to, like, let down that wall that I built. And her coming back, she’s probably the only character or person that could have done that. And I think that’s why we click and bond so well, because she’s probably one of, like, other than the four horsewomen that know me as well as Lexi, because we started together.”
Charlotte’s comments make it clear this partnership isn’t just another random tag team. After years of doing things her own way, she’s now admitting Alexa Bliss is someone she truly connects with — something that doesn’t happen often in her career.
With WWE continuing to build its women’s tag team scene, Charlotte and Alexa Bliss are starting to look more like a serious duo instead of a short-term pairing. And if Charlotte is trusting someone inside the ring, that says a lot. Charlotte Flair has built her name by standing alone, but this time she’s making it clear that Alexa Bliss might be the one partner who changed that mindset.
Do you think Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss can become one of WWE’s top tag teams, or is Charlotte better off staying a singles star? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know what you think.
