Anthony Hill NFL Draft Profile

The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Anthony Hill NFL Draft Profile.

Hill was a five-star recruit in the class of 2023 who signed with Texas to stay in-state. He immediately had an impact, registering 67 tackles and five sacks as a freshman. Hill helped the team win 12 games and make the Sugar Bowl. In the 2024 season, Hill tallied 113 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He led the Longhorns to the CFP and the team made the semifinals. For the 2025 season, Hill racked up 69 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks. The Longhorns were aided by Hill to win 10 games on the season.

Following the 2025 season, Hill declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.

Anthony Hill Strengths

Hill has a nice blend of size and athleticism. He measured in at 6-foot-3 and 238 pounds at the NFL Combine which are solid for a modern-day linebacker. Hill tested well athletically at the combine and that shows up on tape as well. He has good acceleration to start plays, which helps him come downhill. Hill’s agility and speed are also solid for the position.

He is a great run defender. Hill can diagnose run plays fairly quickly and then shows good pursuit to get to the ball carrier. He gets through traffic with ease and takes good angles to the ball. He is usually a sure tackler to complete the play. His run defending will be a plus early in his career.

His pass-rushing skills are unique for an off-ball linebacker. He had 17 sacks during his three years at Texas. When he blitzes, Hill has great burst and flexibility to help him win. He has a good closing burst on the quarterback to finish sacks. Hill is an athletic mismatch on the edge.

Anthony Hill Weaknesses

He has the traits to be good in coverage, but he needs to clean a few things up. In zone coverage, Hill could have better eye-balance, as he can get caught between receivers and the quarterback. Some shifty players can break free from his man coverage as well. More reps in coverage could have him turn this weakness into a strength.

For the most part, he is a sure tackler, but there are a few misses on his tape. He needs to stay balanced and gather before the tackle to limit the misses. Hill is around the ball a lot and making sure he is tackling with good form all the time will be important.

To help his run defense even more, Hill could shed more quickly. While he diagnoses plays and gets through traffic well, there are times when he struggles to free himself from blockers quickly enough to have an impact. He shows good aggression when taking on blocks, but needs to continue to hone his hand usage to improve in this area.
