RHP Caden Scarborough, the Texas Rangers’ No. 2 prospect, has officially cracked MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list at No. 100. The 20-year-old right-hander earned the ranking after Baltimore Orioles catcher Samuel Basallo graduated from the list.
Scarborough enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, posting a stellar 2.45 ERA across 88 innings between Low-A Hickory and High-A Hub City. The tall righty struck out 114 batters while issuing just 21 walks, showcasing elite strikeout stuff and command. A sixth-round pick (171st overall) in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Harmony High School in Florida, Scarborough received an over-slot bonus and has rapidly climbed the organizational ranks.
Now standing at 6’5” and listed around 185 pounds, Scarborough features a fastball that touches 96 mph with carry, complemented by a promising pitch mix. He’s currently in Arizona building arm strength and preparing for the 2026 season, with expectations high for further development as he eyes a potential jump to Double-A this season.
Rangers fans have plenty to be excited about with Scarborough joining top prospect Sebastian Walcott in the national conversation. His meteoric rise positions him as a potential future rotation anchor for Texas. We will keep you updated on this young arm as he continues his ascent through the minors.
