Will Gunther Interact with John Cena At WrestleMania?
When you think about John Cena’s WrestleMania role, it’s hard not to think about The Ring General. Gunther was on a path of destruction in 2025, heading into 2026. After claiming the careers of John Cena and Goldberg, the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion’s reign of terror didn’t end there.
After Gunther proclaimed that he made John Cena “Tap out like a b****,” John Cena’s former rival, AJ Styles, stuck up for him. This led to Gunther retiring AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble.
From there, AJ Styles’ former Tag Team Championship partner, Dragon Lee, stood up to the Austrian. However, Gunther took out Dragon Lee and stole his mask. Since then, Gunther hasn’t been seen on TV.
Here is the latest status on Gunther’s WrestleMania plans. Seeing as those plans are seemingly falling through, Creative is pitching that Gunther to confront John Cena for a WrestleMania moment.
In fact, some believe that John Cena will actually lay out Gunther to send the fans home happy. While this might derail the momentum of Gunther in some people’s eyes, others believe this is a better use of him than wrestling Dragon Lee at WrestleMania.
