BEVERLY, Mass. — CES Boxing delivered an action-packed night of championship boxing Saturday at the historic North Shore Music Theatre, highlighted by hometown star Francis Hogan successfully defending his title and rising prospect Amelia Moore capturing her first professional championship.
The event featured dramatic finishes, breakout performances, and a pair of fighters positioning themselves for bigger opportunities in the months ahead.
Francis Hogan Defends NABF Title with Fifth-Round Stoppage
In the main event, Boston’s unbeaten middleweight Francis “Frank the Tank” Hogan improved to 22-0 (18 KOs) with a fifth-round stoppage victory over seasoned Ghanaian veteran Patrick Allotey (45-11, 35 KOs), retaining the NABF Middleweight Championship.
The bout began as a tactical clash between Hogan’s southpaw movement and Allotey’s forward pressure. The experienced challenger entered the fight with a resume that included bouts against world-class competition such as Jaime Munguia, Serhii Bohachuk, Chordale Booker, and Tommy Hyde.
Hogan began to take command in the middle rounds and dropped Allotey with a sharp left hand in the fourth. Tensions escalated in round five when Allotey complained of a shot behind the head before retaliating with a hammer punch to the top of Hogan’s head, prompting referee Johnny Callas to deduct a point.
The situation deteriorated moments later when Allotey grabbed Hogan and attempted to knee him, forcing Callas to immediately stop the contest.
“I had a tough, quality opponent in there tonight,” said Hogan after the fight. “He punched hard and went more rounds than I thought he would. I wish he would have been a bit more classy with the way things ended, but I was breaking him down and I know that I would have gotten him out of there one way or another.”
With the victory, Hogan successfully defended his NABF title for the first time and continued his steady climb toward world-level competition.
“I want to fight Connor Coyle next,” Hogan added. “We have similar records and are in the same division, so we should fight each other. We can’t just keep fighting steppingstones and veterans, we have to fight someone who is undefeated and take someone’s ‘0’. So, Connor Coyle, I’m calling you out. You’re next – sign the contract.”
Amelia Moore Captures First Professional Title
In the co-main event, former Olympic standout Amelia Moore delivered a dominant performance to capture the NABF Lightweight Championship, defeating Canada’s Bonnie Hunter via unanimous decision.
Moore improved to 4-0 (1 KO) with judges’ scores of 80-72, 80-72, and 80-71 after controlling the action across eight rounds.
The 2020 U.S. Olympic alternate used superior speed, movement, and sharp combinations to dictate the pace of the fight. She stunned Hunter with a powerful right hand in round three and continued to dominate with slick head movement and crisp punching.
Despite Hunter’s toughness, she was unable to mount meaningful offense against Moore’s disciplined approach.
“I’d really like to fight [WBA Champion] Stephanie Han,” Moore said after the win. “I know we would make for a great fight.”
The victory moves Moore closer to a potential world title opportunity.
Tevin Regis Survives Knockdown to Stay Unbeaten
Dorchester’s Tevin Regis (7-0, 6 KOs) survived a dramatic scare before earning a third-round TKO victory over late replacement Romel Tsanimp (3-9).
Regis initially appeared poised for a quick finish after dropping Tsanimp with a jab in the opening round. However, Tsanimp stunned the unbeaten prospect with a looping right hand that sent Regis to the canvas.
Regis regained control in round two behind a heavy jab and powerful right hands. The exhausted Tsanimp ultimately chose not to answer the bell for the third round, giving Regis the stoppage victory.
