BREAKING-Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo Sacked • Sahara Football

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the departure of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, bringing an end to his tenure with the senior national team with immediate effect.

In a brief statement released by the Association, the GFA confirmed that both parties have parted ways, signaling a new chapter for the national team as it looks ahead to the upcoming World Cup.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately,” the statement read.

Otto Addo, who took charge of the Black Stars during a crucial rebuilding phase, played a key role in guiding the team to the World Cup for the second consecutive time while missing out on AFCON 2025. His time in charge included efforts to stabilize the squad, integrate new talents, and maintain Ghana’s competitive presence.

The GFA expressed appreciation for his contributions, acknowledging his commitment and service during his stint as head coach.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.”

While the decision marks a significant shift for the Black Stars, the GFA has indicated that plans are already underway regarding the team’s technical future.

“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course,” the statement concluded.
