Draper latest addition to Monte-Carlo Masters withdrawal list

Jack Draper announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters on Tuesday. Draper cited it as a precautionary move as his comeback continues on the heels of a 2025 arm injury.

The British left-hander missed the second half of last year and the start of this one before returning in February. He is 5-3 so far with a quarterfinal performance in Indian Wells. However, that encouraging result — which included a thrilling victory over Novak Djokovic — was followed by an immediate exit from Miami at the hands of Reilly Opelka.

Americans Taylor Fritz and Sebastian Korda recently joined the Monte-Carlo withdrawal list, as did Djokovic. This is the only one of the nine Masters 1000s on the annual ATP calendar that is not required for top players.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are still in the field along with Alexander Zverev, Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Daniil Medvedev. Stan Wawrinka, Matteo Berrettini, Gael Monfils, and Moise Kouame have main-draw wild cards.

The Monte-Carlo Masters takes place April 5-12.
