Clan perfect against Stars in league

Glasgow Clan moved to 6-0 against Scottish rivals Dundee Stars in league play with a comfortable 4-0 win at Braehead Arena on Wednesday night.

“It’s a good win. We came in wanting to get the two points tonight, and we did,” said Clan’s Brett Neumann, who scored two of the Clan’s four on the night. “Any time you don’t give up a goal and execute up front, it’s going to be a good feeling, and it’s important to get a good feeling heading into the playoffs.”

Clan took control in the opening period as Tristin Langan opened the scoring from Chris McKay, before Brady Risk doubled the lead with help from Brayden Burke and Jason Fram to make it 2-0 at the intermission.

The middle frame saw chances limited as both sides traded penalties, with calls on Joe Hazeldine and Brayden Burke giving Dundee opportunities to get back into the game. Clan’s penalty kill held firm to preserve the two-goal advantage.

Dundee then found themselves shorthanded five-on-three late in the period through penalties to Griffin Luce and John Curran, but Glasgow were unable to beat Emil Kruse, who made several strong saves to keep his team in the game.

Neumann made it three for the hosts 7:24 into the final period, before adding another short-side finish with 4:51 to play to complete the scoring in a 4-0 win.

“We have a quick turnaround now, but it’s a good test against Sheffield ahead of the playoffs,” continued Neumann. “It’s a home-and-home, just like it will be the weekend after in the quarter-finals, and Sheffield are a really good team. It’ll be a good test for us.”
