Packers Urged To Take A Wild Offseason Swing At 10.5-sack Weapon

The Green Bay Packers can turn some heads in the NFL season with another major signing via free agency.

With defensive end Micah Parsons unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2026 NFL season and Rashan Gary leaving Titletown, Green Bay has some depth issues to address along its defensive line. According to NFL insider Jason LaCanfora, one potential option for the Packers is future Pro Football Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan, who is still available.

Here’s what LaCanfora told Casino Guru:

DL Cam Jordan and the Packers – Jordan is going to Canton, Ohio one day. He is coming off a 10.5 sack season and after spending years in the abyss with the Saints (post-Sean Payton regime) he is driven by a ring above all else.

At age 37, this might be it. Green Bay badly needs fortification to its line, and with Micah Parsons injured for the first half of the season, having Jordan to move around inside and outside would be huge. He is incredibly durable and if they kept him on a pitch count he is precisely the type of leader you would want for a postseason run. He’s opined about preferring to play for a warm-weather team … but money talks.

Will the Packers go after veteran Jordan in NFL free agency?

At 36-years-old, Jordan’s best days are behind him, but he showed he can still put together more than just a meaningful production when he recorded 10.5 sacks in 2025 with the New Orleans Saints.

The eight-time Pro Bowler has never played for a team besides the Saints so far in his NFL career, but given his wealth of experience and resume, he should be able to find a way to contribute to any stop unit.

In 2025, the Packers were just 26th in the league with a 5.84 percent sack rate.
