The friendly match between the USMNT and Belgium was a concern for fans ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and the Belgians defeated Team USA 5-2.
Despite taking the lead in the first half, the USMNT fell apart quickly just before halftime, and Belgium scored four goals in the second half. After the game, one of the players who played the match talked about the team’s struggles against Belgium.
USMNT midfielder Christian Roldan talked about Belgium’s quality in terms of players and believes that it was a big factor in the match, which resulted in conceding five goals.

Roldan did not start the match but came on the pitch in the second half, where Belgium would score four more goals after equalizing late in the first half.
In a post-match interview with Telemundo, Roldan highlighted the quality as a big difference between the teams.

In a post-match interview, Christian Roldan was asked about how almost every attack from Belgium resulted in a goal in the second half after they started poorly in the first half.
Roldan believes the difference is the quality and said, “Yes, the difference is the quality. We see it in Europe, in the Champions League every Tuesday and Wednesday. This is the difference.”
Amadou Onana put Belgium in the lead in the 53rd minute to make it 2-1. A few minutes later, Charles De Ketelaere scored a penalty kick to make it 3-1.
Dodi Lukebakio scored a brace to make it 5-1 and sealed an impressive victory away from home. The USMNT would score one back before full time with a goal from Patrick Agyemang.
