WWE Skipping Slammy Awards For WrestleMania 42 Week

WWE’s Slammy Awards made a comeback in recent years — but fans will have to miss out on it this year as the company will be skipping it entirely.

After WWE brought back the fan-voted awards in 2024 and followed up again in 2025, many expected the Slammys to continue as part of WrestleMania week. But that’s no longer the plan for 2026.

Speaking on the ZELVX and CHARLIE GIRL podcast on April 3, 2026, Cathy Kelley was asked directly whether the Slammys would be happening again this year — and she gave a clear answer.

“It’s actually not happening this year, but WWE World is a little bit different, and so there are a lot of other things going on.”

This comes as a shift from the past two years, where WWE used the Slammys as a way to engage fans directly through voting and social media, while celebrating top moments across the company. With WrestleMania season typically packed with fan-focused events, the absence of the Slammys stands out — especially after WWE had just reintroduced the concept.

Instead, WWE appears to be leaning into other experiences tied to WWE World, suggesting a different approach to fan engagement this year rather than continuing the awards format. With the Slammys now off the table for 2026, it raises questions about whether this is just a one-year break or a sign that WWE is shifting away from the concept again.

Do you think WWE should bring the Slammy Awards back next year, or is it time to move on from the format entirely? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
