Flashback Friday – Mountain Bike Action Magazine

Looking back at some photos from years gone by

Today is Good Friday, so we thought it might be a good day to share a few photos in a “Flashback Friday” post.

Here’s Cadel Evans, racing for Diamond Back Racing in the Sea Otter Classic in the late 1990s. Cadel was one of the top riders at the Sea Otter in the 1990s. Cadel won the UCI’s Elite Men’s XC World Cup series title in 1998 and 1999, before becoming a full-time road cyclist and going on to win the Tour de France in 2011, at the age of 34. That win made him one of the oldest winners of the Tour de France. (Photo by John Ker/MBA)

In addition to designing and building the original “MountainBikes” that were sold by Gary Fisher and Charlie Kelly in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Tom Ritchey also got involved in getting mountain bikes into the hands of the impoverished people in Rwanda.
