Happy April Fools’ Day – although, unlike others, RaceRoom’s joke can be driven.
Oh, look at RaceRoom, those KW Studios developers are so funny. They’ve AI’d a shopping kart for their sim on April Fools’ Day. Haha.
Except, it’s not a Claude-generated image at all. This is real. It’s free-to-play in the sim racing platform today, and today only.

Seen previously, this featherweight rear-engined trolley should be entertaining on the virtual race tracks.
To go with the open-air metal mesh – which thankfully uses steering and tyres akin to a go-kart – there is a set of humorous patch notes, below.
RaceRoom 1st April 2026 Changelog:
- New free car: Shopping Kart – We spent way too much time on this. Only available today, after which our Lidl license will expire.
- Ranked – Improved precision in matchmaking. You will always be one split below where you think you belong.
- Ranked – Schedule now changes every time you finally find time to race.
- Cougar cars – Re-introduced collision issues as it was getting too quiet
- Physics – Slipstream effect adjusted to be more personal. The car behind is faster, except when it’s you.
- Added “Are you sure?” popup when selecting a track other than Nordschleife. Clicking “Yes” launches Nordschleife instead.
- Introduced pit stop microtransactions. One tyre costs 29 vRP, you get 4 for the price of 3. Fuel is following real gas prices. Get the membership for discounts!
- When driving a Volvo, crew may occasionally go on fika during a race, adding a random fika-delay to pitstops from 2 to 10 minutes, depending on conversation quality
