Lifetime Grand Prix Champ Cam Jones Adds White Rim FKT to His List of Accomplishments

You may recognize Cam Jones for some of his recent accomplishments, including winning Unbound Gravel, Big Sugar, and the Lifetime Grand Prix Series overall title in 2025. While the New Zealand rider may have started last season as a wildcard in the LTGP, he had several dominant performances and proved to be not just a contender, but the one to beat. Now, he’s following up on that impressive breakout season with a new Fastest Known Time (FKT) on Utah’s legendary White Rim Trail.

On March 31, 2026, Jones rode his SCOTT Spark RC World Cup — with a drop bar setup — on the 100-mile route, finishing in a record-setting time of 5:23:27. This bested the previous FKT of 5:28:21, which was set by Keegan Swenson in March of 2021, by just under five minutes. Now, Jones joins his SCOTT teammate, Hannah Otto, who set the women’s White Rim FKT last year, at the top of the leaderboard.

This feat is perhaps even more impressive when you learn that Jones set the new White Rim FKT with very little preparation. Obviously, he was physically prepared for the effort, but according to SCOTT, he reportedly chose to make the attempt “as a last-minute side quest on the way to Sea Otter.”  Apparently, roughly 90 percent of the route was completely unknown to Jones, and he’d never ridden it before. We’re told his main preparation involved a phone call with Hannah Otto the night before, where she shared some strategy and recon notes.

“Even before I ever came to the U.S., I’d heard the legends of the White Rim Trail. It’s not only an iconic mountain bike adventure, but also a route with a deep history of FKT attempts that I’ve followed throughout my career. It’s incredibly special to see my name alongside, and ahead of, some amazing athletes. Next time, though, I’d like to slow things down a bit and take in the views.”

If Jones’ record-setting White Rim FKT is any indication, the Kiwi rider is coming into the first stop of the Lifetime Grand Prix with some fitness. His competition is already on notice after he took the LTGP overall last season, and this FKT confirms that Jones is certainly on form to start the season. The first stop of the LTGP is at the Sea Otter Classic in a couple of weeks, and Jones will definitely be one to watch.
