It’s been weeks since Road Dogg Jesse James quit WWE. The former Co-Head Writer for SmackDown left his job in Creative after months of unhappiness in the role. Road Dogg’s WWE future was already in jeopardy, as the Netflix show Unreal made the Hall of Famer look inept in his job. One of the most glaring scenes saw Road Dogg pitch that Chelsea Green win back the Women’s US Title without having any programs lined up for her next. Road Dogg was criticized for trailing off that “Chelsea Gree has something,” but was unable to find a suitable storyline for her. Now, Road Dogg explains Chelsea Green’s potential and why he is such an advocate for her, even during his post-WWE career.
Road Dogg Explains Chelsea Green Take
Sometimes a wrestler just has “it.” For many legends, that tangible “it factor” is hard to describe. In the case of Road Dogg, he feels Chelsea Green has “it” and then some.
Road Dogg explains during a virtual signing:
“I totally understand people not seeing her worth if you’re only looking through a top guy lens. Like, if you’re only looking for a Main Event of WrestleMania, I can see you not having her in that vision. But I also see the potential that she could be in that vision. I firmly believe that, and I’ll go to my grave believing it, and she’s the right kind of human being.”
While the former WWE Tag Team Champion believes Chelsea Green is a good human being, a former Women’s Tag Team Champion might disagree. Jade Cargill and Chelsea Green have become embroiled in an ongoing rivalry backstage that has caused a rift in the women’s locker room.
Road Dogg Believes Chelsea Green Maximizes Minutes
During Unreal, Road Dogg couldn’t articulate why he wanted Chelsea Green to have the US Title. At the end of the day, he just believes she deserves regular TV time.
Many WWE Superstars stay off the road when they’re dealing with an injury. Others, in the past, used these injuries as opportunities to get themselves over. For instance, Randy Orton shot to superstardom, giving us health updates through RNN in 2002. Meanwhile, CM Punk won fans over with his commentary skills while rehabbing a 2010 injury.
Chelsea Green is now stealing the show in segments that are less than one minute. All the PatriHOT needs is a wheelchair and a camera.
The former Roadie says:
“She’s a workhorse. She says no to nothing and yes to everything. She kicked a 40-yard field goal with a broken ankle. For the love of God, the girl’s a national treasure.”
While Road Dogg’s stance on Chelsea remains unwavering, his time in WWE had to come to an end. The ex-Creative Team member said the machine was moving too fast for him, and he needed to get off the ride.
Road Dogg’s Plans for Chelsea Green
While Unreal made Road Dogg look uncertain about how to handle Chelsea Green, the cameras didn’t show that the New Age Outlaw had plans.
Road Dogg wanted to team Zoey Stark up with the Secret Hervice to kick Piper Niven out. However, things derailed with Zoey Stark’s injury. Now, Piper Niven herself is facing a career-threatening neck injury.
That said, Chelsea Green is still slaying the screen with Alba Fyre. It remains to be seen what is in store for the Green Regime heading into WrestleMania.
