Liv Morgan has been on a roll as a heel character since 2024 — and now she’s explaining exactly why she doesn’t want to go back to being a babyface.
While speaking to Esteban Ramirez, Morgan broke down why she prefers playing the bad guy on screen, making it clear that being a heel gives her more freedom and feels far more natural than trying to be the good guy. She didn’t hesitate when describing her mindset, admitting right away that she enjoys leaning into that darker side of her character.
“I like being a bad girl. I feel like you knew that. I like being a bad girl. It’s just so fun and easy and freeing.”
Morgan then explained the pressure that comes with being a babyface, pointing out that it’s not as simple as just being liked — it comes with expectations that can be tough to meet consistently.
“You know, when you are a good guy, it’s like you’re valiant, and the people have to like you. They have to respect you. They have to want to root for you. And sometimes that can be very difficult and that can be hard.”
From there, the former Women’s World Champion pointed out the freedom that comes from being a heel, where reactions matter differently and there’s more room to take risks without worrying about approval.
“And being a bad guy, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you mess up. It doesn’t matter if they love or hate you. Obviously, you want to get them to hate you, but that reaction isn’t as important as when you are a good guy and you’re supposed to be getting cheered.”
Morgan made it clear that the heel role isn’t just easier — it’s where she feels most comfortable and confident. And if it were up to her, she wouldn’t be switching sides anytime soon.
“So I love being a bad girl. I love the freedom that gives me. I feel very comfortable. I feel very in my wheelhouse. Um, yeah—I would say I would stay terrible forever.”
Bottom line — Liv Morgan isn’t experimenting with this character anymore since she’s locked in. After two years of building this version of herself, she’s not chasing cheers — she’s owning the reaction, whatever it is. And unless something drastic changes, don’t expect her to become a babyface again anytime soon.
