On Monday, April 6, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for March 2026, and two India National Cricket Team superstars – Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson – feature in the list.

Joining Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson in the battle for the ICC Player of the Month nominees for March 2026 is Proteas wicket-keeper-batter Connor Esterhuizen.

He was not India’s first choice at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as India preferred Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan as the openers. However, after a tactical change made by the coaching staff, Sanju Samson made his way into the playing XI.

Then, Sanju Samson made the most of the opportunities he got and played his best-ever cricket in the most important matches for India, eventually steering them to glory.

He slammed 97* runs in a must-win match against the West Indies National Cricket Team and followed it up with impressive 89s against the England National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team in the final.

Overall, in March 2026, the star wicketkeeper-batsman slammed 275 runs at an amazing average of 137.50 and a stunning strike rate of 199.27.

Jasprit Bumrah and Connor Esterhuizen starred in March 2026

India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is regarded as the best bowler in the world, looked dominant as usual in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

He bagged two wickets in the Super 8 clash against the West Indies National Cricket Team and then stopped the England National Cricket Team from chasing down the target in the semi-final.
Jasprit Bumrah continued his bowling masterclass in the summit clash as he returned with the bowling figures of 4/15.

Talking about the South Africa National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Connor Esterhuizen had an impressive debut T20I series against New Zealand. He slammed 200 runs in five matches, at an average of 50.00 and a strike rate of 145.98.

ICC Women’s Player of the Month nominees for March 2026

On the women’s side of things, New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team star Melie Kerr, Australia Women’s National Cricket Team star Beth Mooney, and South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team bowler Ayabonga Khaka have been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for March 2026.

Melie Kerr showcased some sensational performances in March in the matches against Zimbabwe and South Africa. She bagged 18 wickets in ODI matches in March, and in T20Is, she picked up six wickets. With the bat, Kerr slammed 276 runs in the T20Is and 176 runs in ODIs.

Meanwhile, Beth Mooney started off March with a brilliant 106 off 84 balls against India and then in the T20I series against West Indies, she scored 107 runs at an average of 35.66 and a strike rate of 128.91 in three games before finishing up the month with a 65-run knock against the West Indies National Cricket Team in an ODI game.

Talking about Ayabonga Khaka, she was the leading wicket-taker in the T20I series between South Africa and New Zealand. She picked up eight wickets in the series, and in her only ODI match in March, she registered figures of 6/56 in Christchurch.
