The Green Bay Packers have one of the most iconic jerseys in the NFL. Their green and gold uniform with the infamous G is recognized worldwide. Still, from color rush to throw backs, the team has seen numerous alternate jerseys over the years.
2026 will be no different.
The Packers Will Sport A New Jersey In 2026
During Ed Policy’s monthly column, he responded to a fan question that provided a look at what’s to come for Green Bay’s threads. Here was the original question:
Hello Mr. Policy, can we PLEASE (repeated 8 times) do an actual alternate uniform at some point? For decades the answer has been that we just don’t want to break with the historic tradition of the Packers.
We get that, but it’s not like anyone is asking to permanently change the uniforms. I like a number of the throwbacks, but still don’t understand why the Packers are so reluctant to try something new and creative during the season. Is the organization afraid that too many people might actually prefer the new look and pose a threat to the traditional one?
Here is Policy’s response:
Thanks, Eric. Yes. As I mentioned back in November, there is a true alternate uniform in the works. Last year, the NFL unveiled a new rivalries uniform for teams in the AFC East and NFC West.
The NFC North is on the docket this year. Stay tuned and you’ll learn more in the coming months – but I will say this truly alternate uniform will celebrate our owners and emphasize our uniqueness…
To get an idea, here is what the Buffalo Bill’s “Rivalries Jerseys” looked like last year:

It will be interesting to see how the team comes up with rivalry jerseys that honor the owners (the fans).
As soon as they are released, we will be on it to bring you the new look!
