Former UFC contender Darren Till is moving on to the next phase of his career, and it sounds like it’s going to be pretty interesting.
Till, from the United Kingdom, parted ways with the UFC in 2022. Following a near three-year break from competition, he then made a jump to boxing. His last three boxing matches all occurred under the Misfits Boxing banner, where he has beaten Anthony Taylor, Darren Stewart, and Luke Rockhold. The win over Rockhold earned him the Misfits bridgerweight belt, which seemed to imply he’d keep fighting for them. Apparently, that’s not the case.
Speaking on Instagram, Till announced that he is parting ways with Misfits Boxing — though he did not rule out a comeback. In the meantime, he said he has some big news on the way.
UFC veteran Darren Till teases ‘massive’ news
“It’s time to try my hand at something else,” Till said. “Not a lot of people wanted to fight me [in Misfits]. It was getting really hard to get fights, so in the next few days, I’m going to have a massive announcement, some massive news. I’m sure you’re all going to be excited to see what I’m going to announce. And I just want to say again thanks to Misfits, thanks to everyone involved, and I’ll probably be back there soon as well — this is not the end of it with Misfits. Peace and love.”
Till, 33, certainly has options. He could conceivably get involved with Jake Paul’s Most Value Promotions, who are pushing into MMA starting with a blockbuster card on Netflix on May 16. He could also jump to BKFC, where a fight with “Platinum” Mike Perry could be down the road. These days, you never know where a fighter will end up.
Till debuted with the UFC in 2015. He competed in the middleweight and welterweight divisions. In 2018, he fought Tyron Woodley for the welterweight belt, but came up short via submission. Other highlights of his career include wins over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, and Kelvin Gastelum.
