UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Duncan was this past weekend and featured some exciting fights and finishes. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to the rundown.
UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Duncan
GOOD- Jose Delano vs. Robert Ruchala
They come out firing strikes at each other in bunches. It’s a close round. The second round begins with Ruchala pressuring Delano. However, Delano turns things around and now he’s the one being the most active. Ruchala is bloodied by the end of the second round. The third round starts with both men a house of fire, strikes flying from all angles. Ruchala presses Delano into the cage and grabs the fence with both hands to keep him in place. The referee calls time and deducts a point. They restart and the fighters go back to beating on each other. Delano’s volume and damage are higher as the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Delano wins the decision to improve to 17-3 and has won 5 straight fights while Ruchala drops to 11-3. Good win for Delano.
GOOD- Tommy McMillen stops Manolo Zecchini
McMillen starts off landing a lot of hard strikes. Zecchini gets hit below the belt but is fine after a short breather. McMillen is landing a lot of strikes. The finish comes when he nails Zecchini in the chest with a knee that drops him and follows up with some punches to the head before the referee can stop the fight not quite four minutes into the first round.
McMillen improves to a perfect 10-0 while Zecchini drops to 11-5. Good win for McMillen.
GOOD- Ethyn Ewing stops Rafael Estevam
Ewing is much more active early on. Estevam is hit low but is fine after some recovery time. Ewing is beating Estevam to the punch and even drops him before the first round ends. The second round begins with Estevam trying for takedowns but not able to land any. He gets kneed in the face for his troubles. Ewing is all over Estevam, who can’t get going as the second round ends. The third round starts with Ewing continuing to beat on Estevam, staggering then dropping him and landing an unnecessary hammerfist before the referee can jump in to stop the fight a bit over a minute and a half into the third round.
Ewing improves to 10-2 and has won 10 straight fights while Estevam gets handed his first loss and now sits at 14-1. Good win for Ewing.
GOOD- Abdulrakhman Yakhyaev submits Brendson Ribeiro
They trade strikes for a moment before Yakhyaev gets a takedown. They’re up and down and Yakhyaev locks in a rear-naked choke that forces the tap not quite three minutes into the first round.
Yakhyaev improves to a perfect 9-0 while Ribeiro drops to 17-10 with 1 No Contest and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Yakhyaev.
GOOD/BAD- Virna Jandiroba vs. Tabatha Ricci
Jandiroba gets an early takedown. They’re up and down before separating. Jandiroba gets a body lock in but not much else happens and the first round ends. The second round begins with Jandiroba getting another early takedown. Ricci gets up and they strike a bit but not much else is happening and the second round ends. The third round starts with Ricci getting a takedown but again, not much is happening as they stymy each other. The fight ends so we go to the judges to render their verdict. This wasn’t an exciting fight by any stretch of the imagination as they’re both too good to be finished or even really beaten up. It sucks but it happens sometimes.
Jandiroba wins the decision to improve to 23-4 while Ricci drops to 12-4. Good win for Jandiroba.
GOOD- Renato Moicano submits Chris Duncan
They trade some strikes before clinching. Moicano is connecting with a lot more strikes. Duncan is doing fine but Moicano is just doing better as the first round ends. The second round begins with some big striking exchanges. Moicano bloodies up Duncan’s nose with some powerful punches. Moicano drops Duncan with some hooks and Moicano jumps on his back as he tries to rise. Moicano locks in a face crank and forces the tap a bit over three minutes into the second round.
Moicano improves to 21-7-1 while Duncan drops to 15-3 and has his 4 fight winning streak snapped. Moicano goes on an unhinged rant after the fight and that wraps up the event. Good win for Moicano.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s Beginning. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths. Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life. Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace. However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence, the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action, magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. Also, my line of comic books are now available under the 3P Comics label. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me.
