One of the biggest women’s fights in European MMA this year is officially set. Undefeated bantamweight champion Lucia Szabová will attempt to make history when she moves down a division to challenge Brazilian titleholder Leidiane Fernandes for the flyweight belt at OKTAGON 87.
The championship showdown will take place April 25, 2026, at the Home Credit Arena in Liberec, Czech Republic, where Szabová will attempt to become the first double champion in the history of OKTAGON MMA.
If successful, the Slovak star would hold titles in both the bantamweight and flyweight divisions, cementing her status as one of the promotion’s most dominant fighters.
Lucia Szabová: The “Silent Killer” Chasing History
Known by her nickname “Silent Killer,” Lucia Szabová has quickly become one of the brightest stars in European MMA.
The Slovakian standout enters the fight undefeated with a professional record of 10–0, boasting an impressive 67% finish rate with multiple submission victories.
Szabová captured the OKTAGON women’s bantamweight championship in 2025 and has since established herself as one of the most dangerous fighters on the promotion’s roster.
Despite her calm personality outside the cage, Szabová is known for her aggressive and technical style once the fight begins. With a background in judo and striking disciplines, she has developed into a well-rounded mixed martial artist capable of finishing fights on the ground or standing.
Now the 27-year-old is aiming to make history by dropping to 125 pounds to chase a second title.
Leidiane Fernandes Ready to Stop the Undefeated Run
Standing in Szabová’s way will be Brazil’s dangerous champion Leidiane Fernandes.
Fernandes enters the fight with a 7–2 professional record and represents a serious challenge for the Slovak champion.
Fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernandes has built her reputation through an aggressive fighting style and resilience inside the cage. Her ability to pressure opponents and push the pace has helped her climb to the top of the flyweight division.
For Fernandes, the matchup is about more than just defending a title—it’s about ending the unbeaten streak of one of Europe’s hottest prospects.
The Brazilian champion has made it clear she plans to be the first fighter to silence the “Silent Killer.”
A High-Stakes Main Event in Liberec
The title clash was originally expected to take place earlier in 2026, but the matchup was postponed after Fernandes withdrew due to injury. The fight has now been rebooked as the main event of OKTAGON 87, raising the stakes even further.
With Szabová chasing historic double-champion status and Fernandes defending her throne, the bout could become one of the most important women’s fights in OKTAGON history.
Fans inside Home Credit Arena are expected to witness a dramatic battle between:
- An undefeated champion chasing legacy
- A dangerous Brazilian titleholder defending her crown
When the cage door closes on April 25, history could be written in Liberec.
