Alberto El Patron is once again making headlines for legal trouble after reports surfaced claiming he was taken into custody in Mexico following accusations of domestic violence.
According to Milenio, Patron was arrested Monday in San Luis Potosi, Mexico after his wife accused him of physically assaulting her. Authorities reportedly responded to the scene and detained Patron after discovering visible signs of violence on his wife. The report also included an image appearing to show Patron in custody, resembling a mugshot taken following the arrest.
Details about the situation remain limited at this time, and it is not yet clear what charges, if any, have been formally filed against him following the reported arrest. Local reports indicate that law enforcement acted after responding to the alleged domestic incident and determining there was enough cause to take him into custody at the scene.
This latest incident comes after Patron faced serious legal issues in the United States several years ago. In 2020, he was arrested in Texas following allegations that he battered and sexually assaulted his then-girlfriend. At the time, he was indicted on charges including aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault. However, after multiple delays in court proceedings, those charges were ultimately dropped toward the end of 2021.
Despite those past legal troubles, Patron returned to professional wrestling in 2023 and quickly regained a prominent role in AAA. He positioned himself as one of the company’s biggest names, capturing the Mega Championship first as a fan favorite before later turning heel and aligning with Dorian Roldan as part of the El Ojo faction.
Following WWE’s acquisition of AAA last year, Patron’s presence on television began to fade. His run with the company eventually came to an end after he lost a match to El Mesias in July that carried a stipulation requiring him to leave AAA if he was defeated.
As of now, there has been no official statement released publicly from Patron or his representatives regarding the reported arrest. More details are expected to emerge as authorities clarify the situation and determine what legal steps may follow.
This situation could have major implications for Patron’s future both inside and outside the wrestling world, especially given his past legal history and recent wrestling activity.
