The WTA Linz tournament is generally a showcase for second-tier players on the WTA Tour. The top players usually sit this one out, preparing for the following week in Stuttgart. The Linz tournament is a big opportunity for WTA players lower down the rankings list to pick up points and get valuable match play before the bigger events in the European clay season. Let’s look at some matches from the Tuesday card.
WTA Linz
Badosa – Tagger: Time 16:00

Paula Badosa recently revealed she has been suffering from a torn labrum in her right hip, which explains her dip in form and the injury-shortened tournaments she has endured, which have pushed her out of the top 100 in the WTA rankings. Badosa was ranked as high as No. 2 in the world in 2022, but health has been an obstacle since then. Lilli Tagger is ranked No. 117 in the World, only 15 spots lower than Badosa’s 102.
Best Bet to Make
The world rankings say this is a competitive match, but a large portion of Tagger’s 14 wins in 2026 have come at smaller tournaments (lower than 250s and 500s). Badosa’s health is always a concern these days, but she won two matches at Charleston last week. That’s enough to suggest she can move smoothly through this match and make it a short one.
That being said, Taking the under 21.5 is a value bet for sure.

Grabher – Eala: Time 18:00

Julia Grabher is ranked 89th in the World, Alexandra Eala 46th. So, one might think that Eala is an easy choice here. However, Grabher is an Austrian tennis player. In Linz, the crowd will be entirely behind her. Eala has been playing in North America recently. Now she moves to Europe, where her first tournament on the continent in recent weeks could be tricky. Eala is the better player, but the circumstances could favor her opponent.
Best Bet to Make
The idea of picking Grabher to win seems too risky, but you could go with a spread bet on the Asian handicap and give yourself some margin for error. Grabher +3.5 games and Eala -3.5 games are priced fairly evenly in this match. Taking Grabher in what is essentially a “home” match feels like a reasonable play at the given market prices.
That being said, Grabher winning a close match is a value bet for sure.

Pliskova – Sasnovich: Time 19:30

Karolina Pliskova is winding down her career. The Czech veteran is well past her prime, but she’s still trying to figure out the tour. She and her opponent, Aliaksandra Sasnovich, have been on tour for a long time, so long that their last head-to-head meeting was way back in 2018, eight years ago. How will they respond to this reunion? It’s not often that you see two players not play each other on tour for eight years and then finally meet again.
Best Bet to Make
Karolina Pliskova hasn’t played a live tour match since February 11. Aliaksandra Sasnovich has won two Linz matches in the qualifying rounds. She won both matches in straight sets and enters the match as the more in-form player, also the player with a lot less rust. Pliskova, after two months away from live pro tennis, could be very sluggish here. Sasnovich winning in straight sets and creating a shorter match seems like a very logical expectation to have.
That being said, Under 20.5 games is a value bet for sure.
