Mark Scheifele has hit another career milestone.
“You know, it means a lot. I’m obviously very honored and humbled by it,” said Scheifele of the milestone following the game. “So, it’s pretty cool to think about. It’ll probably take a little bit to sink in, but it’s very cool in my mind.”
The 33-year-old finished the game with three assists, earning himself First Star of the Game.
Scheifele becomes the second player in Jets history to reach the milestone, joining his mentor, the late Dale Hawerchuk (929).
The Kitchener, Ont. native sits at 96 points (34G, 62A) on the season, just four back of his first-ever 100-point season. He already passed his previous career-high of 87 points (39G, 48A), which he set last season.
Scheifele, who was drafted seventh overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has recorded 370 goals and 531 assists for 901 points in 956 games.
