Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Brewers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
We’re back with another Brewers Reacts Survey, and in this week’s edition, we’re asking if you think Brice Turang is a legit MVP candidate.
Now, before I go any further, I do want to acknowledge the recent news that Turang is dealing with a foot/ankle injury. Based on the fact that he’s played through it for the last week or so, and that it doesn’t sound like it’ll require an IL stint, I’m just going to assume he’s fine and offer this poll up anyway.
Turang, 26, is now in his fourth MLB season, and he’s gotten better each year. After winning the NL’s Platinum Glove in 2024, he turned into one of the league’s best-hitting second basemen in 2025. Over 156 games a year ago, Turang hit .288/.359/.435 with 18 homers, 28 doubles, 81 RBIs, 97 runs scored, and 24 steals. That, paired with his still solid — albeit slightly worse than 2024 — defense, generated 5.6 bWAR and got him enough MVP votes to finish 14th in the race.
Through the small sample size of 10 games, he looks to be on an even better pace in 2026. He’s hitting .270/.413/.514 with a homer, four doubles, seven RBIs, 10 runs, and four steals, totaling 0.6 WAR. That would put him on a 162-game pace of between 9 and 10 WAR. Not too bad.
Now in his third season as a top-tier player, that leaves the question: Is Turang a legit MVP candidate? Vote in the poll below and weigh in in the comments; we’ll be back with results later this week!
