Before Tuesday’s game in Phoenix, Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant said he has moved past how his time with the Suns came to an end, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
The matchup marked his first return to Phoenix since being traded to Houston last offseason.
“At the time, it was tough to take. A place I wanted to be. I wanted to keep building, but it’s the business of the league and it’s the business of basketball,” Durant said.
“You’re not going to be in the same place all the time. It is what it is. Yeah, I was sour early on, but I think I’ve gotten over it. Time heals all. Just move on.”
Former Suns star finished the game with 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists in a Houston victory.
Durant has played 18 seasons for 5 teams, including the Thunder and Suns. He has averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 1,200 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 15 All-Star games. He has won the Rookie of the Year award, 1 MVP award, 2 Finals MVP awards, and 2 NBA championships.
