Over the past few months, Rosemary has been collecting the Seven Deadly Sins to present to Father James Mitchell in hopes of resurrecting Allie. The former Bunny was killed off of TNA television when she left the company to join AEW in 2019. Since Rosemary started this mission, former TNA legends have popped up in the Undead Realm, including Johnny Swinger and Raven. Now, Abyss returns to TNA in the shocking cliffhanger that aired on last night’s iMPACT Wrestling.
Rosemary Attempts to Resurrect Allie
It’s been ten years since The Decay burst onto the scene in TNA. Ten years (and many incarnations) later, the TNA faction looks to be getting back together.
The OG Decay consisted of Abyss, Crazzy Steve, and Rosemary. As the male members fizzled away, Rosemary would create alliances with the likes of Taya Valkyrie and Havok.
Prior to Allie’s TNA exit, she created a loose alliance with Rosemary. Unfortunately for the future Bunny, Allie lost her soul to Su Yung. Rosemary would win Allie her soul back from Su Yung. However, Allie’s soul stayed in James Mitchell’s Undead Realm.
When Rosemary fought Su Yung in the Undead Realm, the Undead Bride slashed Allie’s throat. Allie died in Rosemary’s arms, claiming she was whole again. However, Allie would debut months later as The Bunny, along with The Butcher and The Blade.
When Allie’s AEW contract expired, TNA decided to rekindle the storyline. Rosemary and Allie are poised to become a top Tag Team in the Knockouts Division.
To resurrect her former ally, Rosemary must give James Mitchell the Seven Deadly Sins. That’s why Abyss returned to TNA last night.
Rosemary’s Quest for Seven Deadly Sins
The Undead Realm brings a supernatural flair to TNA television. With TNA on AMC, the network behind The Walking Dead embraces these types of vignettes.
Rosemary has been actively trying to bring Allie back by collecting the Seven Deadly Sins. So far, this quest has seen some familiar faces pop up in The Undead Realm.
First, Rosemary collected “Greed” from Johnny Swinger. The former TNA Superstar admitted to wanting relevancy again. Next, Rosemary turned to her former Decay teammate in Raven. The TNA Hall of Famer felt shunned by the company as of late. So, he offered Rosemary “Envy.”
Finally, Rosemary brought back her former Decay partner in Havok. Havok embodied “Wrath.” The unpredictable star even became muscle for Rosemary, abducting Mila Moore in The Undead Realm.
Mila Moore was with Victoria Crawford to represent “Lust.” These two Diamond Collective members were in search of their partner, Tessa Blanchard. A couple of weeks ago, the daughter of Tully Blanchard became James Mitchell’s personal concierge.
The other Diamond Collective members were accused of lusting over the fame associated with Tessa Blanchard. That’s why Havok abducted Mila on last night’s episode.
While there are a few more sins to go, one more is claimed. Last night’s iMPACT saw Abyss’ return. Based on what the former TNA World Champion said, many believe the big man will represent “Pride.”
Abyss Returns to The Undead Realm
2026 has been a big year for Abyss. Earlier this year, Christopher Park made his one and only WWE appearance in character as Abyss to honor the career of AJ Styles. Just a few months later, Abyss returns to TNA!
iMPACT Wrestling from New Orleans saw Abyss make his return home to TNA. While the WWE producer wasn’t present in front of the crowd, he made his impact felt in The Undead Realm.
In a long vignette that saw Havok, Allie, and Rosemary readying The Undead Realm for The Diamond Collective, Rosemary seemingly hit a dead end in collecting all the Seven Deadly Sins. Therefore, the former Knockouts Champion asked Father James Mitchell for a favor.
The Sinister Minister laughed, stating that nothing is for free. Rosemary anticipated this notion and said she had an olive branch. Then, the Decay leader opened a door to reveal TNA Hall of Famer Abyss.
Abyss Apologizes to Father James Mitchell
In the latest ritual of Project Lazarus to resurrect Allie, Rosemary offered Father Mitchell the soul of former Decay member, Abyss. The monster was affiliated with Mitchell for years.
Under James Mitchell’s tutelage, Abyss won his only NWA TNA World Championship. After three years together, James Mitchell introduced Abyss to his half-brother, Judas Mesias. In fact, The Sinsister Minister revealed he was the father of both men.
Nonetheless, Abyss broke free from Mitchell. The monster would defeat his half-brother in a Barbed Wire Match at Against All Odds 2008. James Mitchell would pester Abyss for years, bringing in other foes to take him down. However, it was all to no avail.
Now, Abyss returns as a pawn to Mitchell once more. When the WCW legend walked into the room, Abyss bowed his head and stated, “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.” The scene ended with “To be Continued.”
Is Abyss Back Full Time in TNA?
It’s unknown if Abyss’ appearance in TNA was a one-time deal or the beginning of a new storyline for the legend. However, former TNA stars like Raven and Johnny Swinger haven’t been seen since. Even Buff Bagwell recently returned to TNA, promising to wrestle a match. Yet, he hasn’t been seen or mentioned since!
Either way, Abyss is a full-time producer for WWE. He is regularly featured on WWE Unreal, where he’s presented as a nervous people-pleaser. This show has also painted other Creative members in an unfavorable light, including The Road Dogg. Many believe his portrayal was part of the reason the DX member quit the company.
While Abyss’ full-time return is unlikely, he might be featured in a few episodes. After all, he was part of this week’s cliffhanger. Plus, there’s a chance the entire cast of characters might return once more when the storyline reaches its climax or end.
Either way, don’t expect Abyss to wrestle a match. He last wrestled in the Last Monster’s Ball in 2019. Abyss lost to Eli Drake, the future LA Knight. After the loss, Christopher Park finished up his duties with TNA to work with WWE full-time. Since WWE and TNA have a good working relationship, don’t be shocked to see Abyss pop up on your screen in the future!
