Great Britain were beaten 1-0 by China in their second game at the men’s Under-18s World Championship Division II Group A in Târgu Secuiesc.
After Sunday’s dramatic 5-4 victory over hosts Romania – which saw Joel Meyers score with 58 seconds remaining – there was much less drama.
China netminder An Jinhao stood on his head with 31 saves to secure his side a first win of the tournament after Sunday’s 3-1 defeat by Japan.
GB netminder Harry Thomas was also on good form, making 33 saves, and was only beaten by a close-range finish by Wang Xiaolong (49:35).
There are no games in the tournament tomorrow and GB return to action on Wednesday (15th April) against Spain at 16:00 (14:00 BST).
