Report: IU basketball freshman center Andrej Acimovic enters the transfer portal – Inside the Hall

Indiana freshman center Andrej Acimovic has entered the transfer portal according to Verbal Commits.

He is the sixth Hoosier to hit the portal this spring, joining Aleksa Ristic, Jasai Miles, Jason Drake, Josh Harris and Nick Dorn.

Acimovic, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from Bijeljina, Bosnia, did not play for the Hoosiers this season and was redshirted.

His primary role was as a big man for IU’s scout team in practice during the 2025-26 season.

Acimovic was viewed as a long-term developmental piece for the program.

The Bosnian big man was added to the IU roster on July 28 but did not accompany the team on its early August trip to Puerto Rico for three exhibition games. He was the final scholarship player added to the 2025-26 roster.

Prior to his arrival at IU, Acimovic averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the U19 ABA League, the top league in the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia region.

Acimovic will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
