Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is starting a new chapter in his football career.
Green Bay decided to send him to the Philadelphia Eagles via a trade last week. In return, the Packers got a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick.
Green Bay’s depth took a hit with the departure of Wicks, but it shouldn’t hurt the team much. The NFC North franchise remains deep in the wide receiver position with Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, who is expected to see his role expand following what was largely a letdown rookie campaign in 2025.
Selected by Green Bay in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Wicks shone in his rookie season with 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 39 catches and 58 targets.
In his second NFL season in 2024, the former Virginia Cavaliers wideout had 415 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 39 receptions and 76 targets. In 2025, which turned out to be his last season with Green Bay, Wicks amassed just 332 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 30 catches and 46 targets.
