Beginning April 18, your favorite Michigan golf show will be moving from its longtime cable home to a local broadcast station near you.

Michigan Golf Live, hosted by Bill Hobson, has for nearly thirty years showcased golf courses, resorts and golf adjacent activities across the state of Michigan. The program began as a radio show in 1999 and added television in 2002, eventually becoming a leading golf-focused show in the Midwest.

Following the collapse of the subscription channel Fan Duel Sports — which at one time carried the Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings — Michan Golf Live has inked agreements with local broadcast stations across the state of Michigan.

Hobson says the move is a win for both MGL and its fans.

With this move, Hobson said, “if you have an NBC, CBS, ABC or Fox affiliate where you live, you’ll see our show on the weekends.”

He added that the “cherry on the sundae is that we’ve reached an agreement with Marquee Sports Network, which is the home network for the Chicago Cubs. Now our show will be seen eight times every week in that entire 5 state region on Marquee Sports Network.”

The new broadcast arrangement boosts MGL’s potential audience from the 3.5 million households on Fan Duel to more than 8.2 million households covered by the six network affiliates.
