GREAT BRITAIN 4-1 SPAIN – Ice Hockey UK

Great Britain beat Spain 4-1 to secure their second victory in three matches at the men’s Under-18s World Championship Division II Group A in Romania.

Max van Mullem started between the pipes and made 29 saves, while Harry Thomas was back-up.

Theo Malone gave GB the lead midway through the first period (09:45) and Edgars Vengis scored on the powerplay (18:49).

GB scored twice in 60 seconds to take control as Ethan Locke’s powerplay goal (25:27) was followed by a strike from Ricards Misins (26:27).

Spain got on the board midway through the period through Oriol Perez (29:38) for their only goal of the game.

GB saw out the rest of the game to secure a vital three points in their bid for a medal at the tournament.

It’s the early game tomorrow for GB as they go head-to-head with Croatia at 12:30 (10:30 BST).
