What’s the best way to shave off watts? Ride a bike called the Shave.
Luckily for Unibet Rose Rockets, they’ve got just that. German brand Rose’s Shave received its first outing on the Paris-Roubaix cobbles, having been released in the winter in collaboration with the French-licensed ProTeam managed by YouTuber Bas Tietema. Since the bike was added to the team’s fleet, it has already been piloted to a handful of wins by Dylan Groenewegen, including the squad’s first WorldTour win at the Ronde van Brugge last month.
The team’s historic anchor Lukáš Kubiš was using the bike in his special Slovak National Champion’s colours, with a SRAM 1x drivetrain with gravel bike components for Sunday’s Paris-Roubaix. Photographer Xavier Pereyron managed to shoot the bike outside the Chateau de Compiegne before dust engulfed its red, white and blue colourway.

As Slovak champion, Lukáš Kubiš’s bike is wrapped in the national colours.

When released, the Shave FF was claimed to be 4.7% more aerodynamic than its predecessor.

Even the seat post is adorned in national colours.

The team were using SRAM’s gravel Red XPLR rear derailleur and cassette, which wasn’t an unusual sight over the last two weeks of cobbled Monuments.

The Unibet Rose Rockets squad were racing on Vittoria’s Corsa Pro Control tyres and used the 32mm versions like many teams on Sunday.

Here he is, with the Slovak-coloured cockpit underneath. Kubiš finished the race in 87th place.
