Packers Showing Major Interest In 1st Round Prospect (Report)

The Green Bay Packers have made massive moves over the last few seasons to set up the “next generation.”  In fact, Green Bay has been one of the youngest teams in the NFL over the last three seasons.  The team’s massive trade for Micah Parsons last off-season also showed the team that Brian Gutekunst feels this team is in a “win now” mode.

Because of the aforementioned Parsons trade, Green Bay won’t have a first round draft pick in 2026 or 2027.  However, that clearly isn’t ruling out the possibility of Green Bay trading back into the first round if one of their favorite prospects falls far enough.

Turns out there could be one prospect that fits that bill.

Packers Showing Major Interest In Projected 1st Round Wide Receiver

As reported by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Packers scouted former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson at his personal workout on April 17th.

Over the past two seasons, Tyson has caught 136 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Sun Devils. As a 6-foot-2, 203-pound receiver, he has the size, versatility, and explosiveness to line up at any of the three receiver spots. It should also be noted that he has been improving his route-running and explosiveness in a drastic way since 2024.

What Would It Take For The Packers To Land Jordyn Tyson

Jordan J. Wilson of Heavy On Packers highlighted what it would take to trade up for Tyson:

Tyson would be an intriguing addition to the Packers’ roster after the departure of two of their biggest contributors from last season, but the chances of him falling into range — or, at least, a reasonable range — are slim even with the weighty injury questions.

The Packers won’t pick until No. 52 overall in the second round, far lower than Tyson — a potential top-20 pick — is expected to fall. Even if he started toward the end of the first round, it would likely require the Packers to pay a steep cost to move up for him.

Where things could get interesting is if Tyson slips into the second round. Again, the Packers would almost certainly need to pay a hefty price to move up double-digit spots for him, but it is more reasonable in the upper parts of the round than late in the first.

It will be interesting to see what Green Bay does on draft night in less than one week.
