Evanilson has been talking ahead of Bournemouth travelling to face Newcastle United.
The Cherries striker and his teammates buoyant after last weekend.
After no wins in their last five Premier League matches, all draws, Bournemouth then last weekend going to league leaders Arsenal and winning 2-1.
Evanilson setting up the winner that was scored by Alex Scott.
The Bournemouth striker telling official club media: “We knew how difficult it was going to be, we had been studying and working hard, and after a few long weeks of training we went into the game knowing what we wanted to do. I think in these big games, even greater concentration is required. Everyone was focused and we managed to win – a difficult victory against the first-placed team. We really celebrated that, but we have to keep going from there.”
Thoughts now turning to Tyneside.
Evanilson admitting: “We are expecting a very difficult game away from home. We know Newcastle United are a very qualified team with players of great quality. We are preparing as well as we can and we’re going to try to build on what we did against Arsenal, and go in search of three points that are very important to us. Every single game in the Premier League is tough and we are under no illusions that another tough test awaits us this weekend.”
Only six points separate Chelsea in 6th from Newcastle United in 14th.
Bournemouth are on 45 points in 11th and a win for Eddie Howe’s side would see them move above today’s visitors.
However, a win for the Cherries would see them go level on points with Chelsea who are home to Man U tonight.
Evanilson declaring: “If we score enough points, we can get a place in European competition, which is a dream for Bournemouth. Ever since I arrived, I said that I wanted to play in a European competition for the club. Not only me, but all the players feel the same. I think we’re close, but we have to continue what we’ve been doing in recent games. It’s a very close-knit group. We have players from all over the world, but on the pitch we’re united.”
