WWE WrestleMania 42 Night One LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

I’ll mesmerize you, hypnotize you, paralyze you, my snake eyes blind you. My tenderest tickle, my gentlest prickle, the back of your neck, I stab icicles. My sweetest grin will pull you in, and I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a Lin Manuel-Miranda video package putting over the grandeur of WrestleMania.

WrestleMania host John Cena makes his entrance, in a suit and tie to signal that he’s well and truly not here to wrestle.

He gets in the ring and on the mic and thanks the crowd for their reaction. He says the past year has been unpredictable, and from every side– in the ring, in the back, and out in the crowd– very, very vocal. One might say polarizing, and so he sees why he got the hosting gig.

Tonight there’s one thing on everyone’s mind, who is gonna stand up and deliver? And so he welcomes us to WrestleMania!
