Austin Barber NFL Draft Profile

The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Austin Barber NFL Draft Profile.

Austin Barber Background

Position: Offensive Tackle

School:
Florida

Size:
6-foot-6 7/8,  318 pounds

Class: Senior

2025 stats: Third Team All-SEC

Barber was a three-star recruit in the class of 2021, who signed with Florida to stay in-state. He redshirted in 2021, but played some as a backup. Barber started five games at right tackle in 2022. He battled injuries to start nine games at left tackle in 2023. His play helped the Gators win five games. For the 2024 season, he started 13 games and aided the Gators in winning eight games. In 2025, he was a Third-Team All-SEC selection. Although he played well, the team struggled.

Following the season, Barber has been preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.

Austin Barber Strengths

Barber has a good frame for an NFL offensive tackle. He measured in at over 6-foot-6 and 318 pounds at the NFL Combine. His play strength isn’t the greatest, but Barber’s frame appears to be able to support more mass to help him. He has long arms that measured in at over 33 inches, which he knows how to use to his advantage.

Right now, Barber is a better run blocker than a pass blocker. He won’t move people too much, but he does execute his assignments well, specifically in one-on-one situations. Barber can clear decent holes and can get to the second level and hit those landmarks as well.

He has strong, heavy hands that can jolt defenders backwards. Barber gets his hands activated early, and with his power, can stall defenders early in reps. His hand placement is usually good, but there are times when he can keep them inside and lower to make sure they are the most effective.

Austin Barber Weaknesses

Barber has his struggles with power pass rushers. He doesn’t have the greatest strength and could be more patient to let them come to him. Barber can set a better anchor and hold his spot better. Adding strength will help, but he can also make sure his technique is a bit more improved to help.

While he is a decent athlete, he lacks flexibility. This hurts his agility in space and also makes it so that edge rushers who are flexible can get the better of him. They can bend around the edge and Barber will need to trust his technique and footwork to help combat this.

He can be too eager to make blocks and lunge. This happens sometimes when he is making his second-level blocks, as he tries to hit players before he is in position. In pass pro, he can lunge when he is out of position and needs to stay balanced.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
