Prasidh Krishna Takes Down Padikkal in Duleep Trophy Clash

Prasidh Krishna, the India A seamer, dismissed his Karnataka teammate and India D batter Devdutt Padikkal on Day 2 of their Duleep Trophy match. Padikkal, who was batting on 92, fell eight runs short of a well-deserved century.

The dismissal came on the fifth ball of the 48th over. Prasidh Krishna delivered a full ball, luring Padikkal into a drive. The batter could only manage an outside edge, which was comfortably caught behind the stumps by keeper Kumar Kushagra.

Although the umpire initially did not raise his finger, India A captain Mayank Agarwal decided to review the decision. The review revealed a clear spike in ball-tracking, leading to the decision being reversed and Prasidh securing an important wicket.

Padikkal’s dismissal left India D in a difficult position at 154/8 after 47.5 overs. They were eventually bowled out for just 183 runs, despite Padikkal’s strong performance.

Earlier, India A had scored 290 runs in their first innings, driven by Shams Mulani’s 89 and a solid 53 from Tanush Kotian. India D’s chase was derailed by Khaleel Ahmed and Aaqib Khan, who each took three wickets.
