Roman Reigns And CM Punk Bring Back Classic Themes For WrestleMania 42 Main Event

Roman Reigns and CM Punk turned back the clock during the WrestleMania 42 Night Two main event, bringing back classic entrance themes that longtime fans immediately recognized.

Roman Reigns was the first to make his entrance, and instead of using his more recent presentation, he walked out to his Bloodline-era theme. The music choice instantly gave the moment a familiar feel, reminding fans of one of the most dominant runs of his career.

CM Punk’s entrance had even more layers to it. Punk began his walkout using AFI’s Miseria Cantare, a theme closely tied to his early career. The song was widely known as Punk’s Ring of Honor entrance music and had only been used sparingly in recent years. The last time Punk used the track came during his time in AEW, when he faced MJF in a Dog Collar match at the 2022 Revolution pay-per-view.

Once Punk reached the stage at WrestleMania 42, the music stopped and the arena went quiet. He stood in front of the crowd without any music playing, building anticipation before delivering his signature line.

After Punk shouted his signature phrase, his familiar theme finally hit. Cult of Personality by Living Colour blasted through the stadium immediately after Punk yelled “it’s clobbering time,” sending the crowd into another loud reaction as the championship match atmosphere reached its peak.

The decision for both Roman Reigns and CM Punk to use throwback-style themes added extra nostalgia to the WrestleMania 42 main event, tying their entrances to key moments from their past careers while setting the tone for one of the biggest matches of the year.

What did you think about Roman Reigns and CM Punk bringing back their classic themes — did it make the WrestleMania 42 main event feel bigger, or should they have stuck with their current music? Let us know in the comments.
