WrestleMania 42 Sunday Results » TWNP-Wrestling News

WrestleMania 42 kicked off to mixed reviews on Saturday. From Paige’s much-lauded return to the much-panned dissolution of Randy Orton and Pat McAfee, The Showcase of the Immortals kicked off with many ups and downs. Night two is set to showcase Jade Cargill defending the Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley, the return of The Demon to face Dirty Dom, CM Punk clashing with Roman Reigns, and much more. Plus, there’s always Green Shirt Guy to watch! Here are the results from WrestleMania 42 on Sunday! These results are ongoing.

Oba Femi Defeats Brock Lesnar

WWE kicked off its first-ever WrestleMania live on ESPN, and the crowd started off hot. After all, former UFC Champion Brock Lesnar and The Ruler Oba Femi kicked off night two of WrestleMania 42. While neither man has a Championship, Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar were given in-ring announcements at the start of what may have been the most anticipated match of the event.

The two behemoths started off evenly matched until Brock failed to take Oba down with a series of Clotheslines. The new sensation would clock Brock with one just one to take The Beast off of his feet.

A rookie mistake would allow Brock to get the upper hand, sending the Nigerian to Suplex City and eventually giving Oba Femi an F5. The Ruler kicked out, much to the shock of the crowd.

Immediately, Oba would fight back with a Chokeslam to the former WWE Champion. Even more impressively, Oba threw Brock up on his shoulders for an impactful Fall From Grace for the win.

Brock Lesnar Retires at WrestleMania 42 Sunday

After the match, Brock Lesnar sat in the ring and looked up at the crowd. The Beast fought back tears as he removed his gloves from his hand, followed by his boots. The Las Vegas crowd chanted, “No,” followed by “Thank you, Brock.” Brock Lesnar waved his hands to the crowd as Paul Heyman hugged his client.

As we said here earlier, Brock Lesnar didn’t want to lose until his last match. We said something had to have changed for Brock Lesnar to agree to wrestle Oba Femi. It seems like Brock Lesnar retired on WrestleMania 42 Sunday

Brock Lesnar slapped fans’ hands on the way out. The Beast grabbed his heart and thanked the audience. Las Vegas responded with “Thank you, Lesnar” as Paul Heyman cried, leading Brock to the back for one last time. Brock Lesnar waved goodbye, joining the likes of Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles, calling it a career.

Penta Holds Onto the IC Title in 6-Man Ladder Match

While Brock Lesnar had his last WrestleMania match, this year was a first for Je’Von Evans. The Bouncy One was one of the competitors in the Intercontinental Title Match, along with Champion Penta, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Rusev, and JD McDonagh. Each person had a moment in the sun, throwing another competitor out of the ring before making their own attempt at climbing.

Je’Evon Evans proved his bouncy nature with a stunning Springboard Clothesline. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio awed the crowd by hitting Dragon Lee with a 619 while sandwiched between a ladder. Dragon Lee would get his revenge on his LWO stablemate when he Dropkicked Rey while the Hall of Famer dangled by his knees from a ladder rung.

Rey Mysterio would make a massive comeback, having Penta launch him over his shoulders to take Rusev out with a West Coast Pop through a ladder. Dragon Lee would pay homage to his former Tag Team Championship partner, AJ Styles, by dropping Rey Mysterio with a Styles Clash. Michael Cole announced that Dragon Lee will use that move for the rest of his career to honor his retired teammate.

JD McDonagh would even the odds by wiping Dragon Lee out with a Spanish Fly off a ladder. Unfortunately for The Judgment Day star, Penta would fly over one side of a ladder to nail the Irish Superstar with a Mexican Destroyer onto a ladder.

With the coast clear, Je’Von Evans climbed the ladder to grab the belt. Rusev removed the ladder and yanked the Young OG from the ceiling. However, Je’Von Evans wouldn’t be denied. The up-and-coming Superstar flew into the frame to yank Rusev off with an OG Cutter. Quickly thinking, Penta leveled Evans with a Mexican Destroyer. The IC Champ scaled the ladder to retain his Title.

Trick Williams Wins the United States Championship

Sami Zayn made his way to the ring with the United States Title in tow, to less fanfare than usual. That’s because the fans were waiting for the arrival of Trick Williams. Lil Yachty talked up his client as The Lemon Pepper Stepper arrived in grandiose fashion, attached to a long white train that ran the length of the ramp.

Much like Cody Rhodes yesterday, Sami Zayn was showing a more aggressive side. He even took a cheap shot at Lil Yachty outside of the ring, even driving the rapper into the barricade.

The Child Boy singer would get his revenge when Sami Zayn tried to replay his finish against Carmelo Hayes from when he won the Title. The Champ stomped a downed Trick Williams as the referee interjected.

Sensing the end, Sami was gearing up for a Helluva Click. However, Yachty went on the apron and tugged the US Champ’s throat over the top rope. Trick tried to finish off Zayn with a Spinning Kick, but The Anointed One only got a count of two.

Trick Williams fought back, only to miss a Trick Shot, leaving him open for an Exploder Suplex into the corner. Once more, Zayn went for the Helluva Kick, but the resilient Williams recovered in time to rock him with a Trick Shot for the win.

The Demon Finn Balor Has A Successful Return In Street Fight

AAA Mega Champion Dirty Dominik Mysterio arrived on an Aztec throne, surrounded by a parade of luchadores wearing King of Luchadores shirts. With The Judgment Day star in the ring, a heart sat at the top of the stage.

For the first time in three years, The Demon appeared as he crawled up to the organ and tapped it to start his entrance. Finn Balor brought the theatrics in a memorable entrance, complete with streamers, a spiked staff, and red smoke.

The two former teammates went at it with The Demon getting the upper hand rather quickly. Finn Balor attempted to grab a table, leaving himself open to an aerial attack from Daddy Dom. Liv Morgan’s boo put canes, boots, and chairs to Balor in hopes of punishing his former Clubhouse mate.

The AAA Mega Champion tried to finish off Balor with 619 and Frog Splash. However, The Demon kicked out. He started to mount a comeback but was cut off after missing a Coup de Grâce, eating a vicious chairshot to the face from Dom.

Mysterio propped a table into the corner to throw Finn through it. He then placed The Demon on the ropes, wrapping a chair around his head. The brash Mysterio would level Balor with a 619, still only getting a two count.

Incensed, Rey Mysterio’s son hit Balor’s fallen body with several chair shots. As Dominik set up another table, The Demon rose. He wore out Dirty Dom with repeated chair shots himself.

Finn trapped Dom’s upper body in the chair before Dropkicking his body into the turnbuckles. As the chair flew off Dom’s body, Finn guided his former teammate onto the top of the table to put him through it with a Coup de Grâce for the victory.

Rhea Ripley Wins WWE Women’s Title with Help from Iyo Sky

It’s been a messy Road to WrestleMania for Jade Cargill and the women’s locker room. So, all eyes were on Elimination Chamber Winner Rhea Ripley challenging the Storm of WWE for the Women’s Championship.

The match started off ugly with both alpha females trading clubbing blows. Jade Cargill would get the advantage on the outside, throwing Rhea Ripley into the barricade. Things would end up back in the ring, where Jade tried to wear down Rhea with an STF. However, Rhea would strengthen her way out before dropping her opponent with a flipping kick.

The two powerhouses hit stiff shots on their knees until they reached a standing position. Rhea would finally knock Jade down with a Big Boot and then give her an Electric Chair to a Faceplant for two. The Erradicator got Jade in place for a Riptide, but Jade got free, eventually putting her challenger down with a Spinebuster.

Jade Cargill went to finish Rhea Ripley off with the Jaded, but Rhea rolled through the legs for two. The Champ channeled her inner Oba Femi, tossing Rhea up for a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Mami awed the crowd by channeling her inner Mysterio with a Hurricanrana and a Shining Wizard.

Rhea got Jade in place for a Razor’s Edge when Michin got on the arpon. B-Fab pulled Cargill out of Rhea’s clutches, causing the Australian to knock her and Michin off the apron.

Jade threw Rhea into the ringpost, where Michin got a shot in on the challenger. She picked Rhea up for the Sandstorm, but Mami got out at two once more.

Frustrated, Jade tossed her opponent outside for her baddies to attack. Just as Rhea was about to be attacked, Iyo Sky made her way down to even the odds. While the RhIYO member’s WrestleMania match was canceled, she still played a big role in the event.

Jade started at Iyo angrily, leaving her open for a Riptide. However, Jade broke free and nailed Rhea with a Pump Kick. Jade was about to finish off Rhea, but The Eradicator slipped out and locked in the Riptide to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

John Cena Announces the Attendance, Danhausen Crashes The Miz’s WrestleMania Moment

WrestleMania 42 host John Cena addressed the crowd to once again announce the attendance in Las Vegas. John Cena proclaimed there were 55,255 people present on WrestleMania 42 Sunday, making the two-day WrestleMania attendance 106,072.

The GOAT gave the crowd a heartfelt “thank you” as his hosting duties came to a close. This caused The Miz and Kit Wilson to come to cut John Cena off. The Miz announced that he wanted his own WrestleMania moment.

Suddenly, Danhausen’s music hit, and a bunch of little people in Danhausen paint came out from under the stage. Danhausen entered the arena inside a Dahnausenmobile with his minions following. The very nice, very evil star entered the ring to announce that he finally made it to WrestleManiahausen.

He then announced that he had something to say to John Cena, causing the audience to gasp. Danhausen extended his hand and told The Never Seen 17 that he was a fan.

The Miz cut off the embrace, prompting Kit Wilson to announce one of the little people was “toxic.” Kit Wilson pushed one over and did his pose for the crew. Danhausen told one of his followers to “Get him,” promoting the imitator to punch Kit Wilson in the groin.

The blimp-loving Superstar told his gang to pile on the former Pretty Deadly member. This set The Miz off, who went to confront Danhausen, only to be punched in his tiny b**** by the face-painted new sensation. With John Cena’s permission, Danhausen gave The Miz a “You can’t see me.”

Instead of a Five Knuckle Shuffle, Danhausen prompted the crowd to join him in a “You are cursed!” to Five Knuckle Shufflehausen The Miz. Finally, Danhausen’s minions carried The Miz to the back while John Cena held Dahausen’s hand high.

Danhausen told John Cena that he couldn’t see him as a sparkler went off in their faces. As John Cena laughed, Danhausen ran under the ring to disappear. One of his minions joined him as The GOAT proclaimed, “Retired life is awesome.” He then told the crowd that the next match was their Main Event.

An opera singer, pianist, and drummer played a rendition of Roman Reigns’ theme song while members of The Bloodline appeared on the Titantron, including High Chief Peter Maivia, Afa, Sika, Yokozuna, and Umaga. The music transitioned to his traditional theme as The OTC donned the Ula Fala on his way to the ring.

A montage of CM Punk’s career played as The Best in the World sat on top of the Allegiant Stadium. The Best In the World was shown backstage wearing a jacket paying homage to many important things to him, including his late dog, Larry and the late Kerwin Silfies. CM Punk Wears a Ula Falla

The bloody Champion hit some ground-and-pound on the Bloodline member. CM Punk took an Ula Falla off of a fan and put it around his neck. He mocked the yell of Reigns and went in for a Spear. However, the OTC1 synced in a Guillotine. Roman Reigns thrashed CM Punk around, allowing the crafty veteran some wiggle room to sneak out of the submission and roll up Reigns. The Street Fighter star kicked out, giving Punk time to remove the Ula Falla from his head and get back into the game.

CM Punk mounted Roman Reigns and put him in an Anaconda Vice. Going move-for-move, Reigns broke free and got Punk in another Guillotine. This time, Reigns Grapevined his legs around CM Punk to lock in the submission. A former UFC fighter, CM Punk stacked Roman Reigns, breaking free of the Guillotine and putting The Tribal Chief into a Sharpshooter. Reigns fought off the attempt of Bret Hart’s move and kicked Punk in the head.
